    The #AthenaNuggets 43, written by Henk van Weers, presents the status of the first developed Focal Plane Assembly (FPA) model of the Athena/X-IFU. The FPA compromises the main detector, the anti-coincidence detector as well as different readout components, magnetic and electric shields.

    The first model of the FPA, fully integrated at SRON, is currently under thermal, mechanical functional and performance tests.
