
NewAthena Science Community Call Open until 16 March!
The open call to join the NewAthena Science Community (NASC) is open until 16 March.
This call is open to worldwide scientists at any career stage, including PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, faculty, research staff, technical staff, retirees, and those in private enterprises involved in the NewAthena Study.
This is NOT a competitive call. Any contribution to NewAthena’s successful adoption is much appreciated.
Applicants can select their desired level of involvement in the project. There are three levels of membership:
- SUPPORT MEMBER - not involved in activities but being informed and supporting the mission.
- ACTIVE MEMBER - collaborating in the WGs activities; recommended to apply for a maximum of 2 WGs, but applying for more would be considered if duly justified.
- CHAIR of a working group - max. 1 Working Group (WG).
In particular, scientists involved in developing software for the reduction and scientific analysis of NewAthena data, the planning of the calibration activities and of the corresponding facilities, or in monitoring the instrument scientific performance are also encouraged to join the working group 7: Science Support.

Notice: due to the GDPR of the European Parliament, members of the (current) Athena science community must re-apply to this call. They shall not assume that their membership in the Athena science community can be transferred to the NASC without taking any actions.
