Françoise Combes awarded the CNRS 2020 Gold Medal
The CNRS Gold Medal, one of France’s most prestigious scientific distinctions, has been awarded to the astrophysicist Prof. Françoise Combes.
Françoise is a very active member of the Athena community. She is co-chair of the multiwavelength synergies working group and she was a member of the ESO-Athena Synergy Team (EAST) to highlight the synergies between Athena and ESO’s facilities. She is also very responsive to the community outreach activities, being one of our first Athena people, and participating in our first involvement in the "International Day of Women and Girls in Science" in 2017 with a short video showing her passion for science.
The Athena community congratulates Françoise for such well-deserved recognition.
