#AthenaNuggets: The Athena Wide Field Imager
One of the two instruments planned in the focal plane of Athena's impressive mirror is the Wide Field Imager, which will allow exploiting the mirror's imaging quality and effective area to the full, thanks to its large field of view, small pixels and high count rate capability.
