Caption: Representative breadboard of the WFI LDA Optical Blocking Filter mounted on a Filter Wheel mock-up during the acoustic tests performed at AGH University in Krakow in July 2019. The filter has a full-size clean aperture of 168 mm x 168 mm and consists of a thin polyimide membrane 150 nm thick coated with 30 nm of Aluminium bonded on Gold, plated stainless steel mesh with ~4% blocking factor. The successful results of the acoustic test campaign have demonstrated the feasibility of a launch with the Filter Wheel kept at atmospheric pressure without the need for a vacuum enclosure.
